BacDive (Bacterial Diversity Metadatabase) is the world’s largest knowledge database for standardised information on bacterial phenotypes and diversity, operated by the Leibniz Institute DSMZ – German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH. It provides centralised access to curated data on taxonomy, metabolism, morphology, optimal cultivation conditions and geographical origin of over 100,000 bacterial and archaeal strains at the molecular, phenotypic and ecological levels.
