BacDive - Bacterial Diversity Metadatabase

Description
BacDive (Bacterial Diversity Metadatabase) is the world’s largest database of standardised bacterial metadata, operated by the Leibniz Institute DSMZ – German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH. The platform aggregates and structures a wide range of information on over 90,000 bacterial and archaeal strains at the molecular, phenotypic and ecological levels. Users can find verified data on taxonomy, morphology, metabolism, cultivation conditions and geographical origins. In addition to manually curated information from scientific literature and strain collections, BacDive is increasingly integrating AI-supported predictions to fill data gaps. As such, this multi-award-winning resource serves as a central tool for global research, industry and teaching in microbiology.
