DZIF Clinical Core Data Set

The DZIF's Core Clinical Data Set supports researchers in study design and standardises data sets. This promotes both interoperability between different studies and the reusability of the collected data in the long term. It was created on the basis of the iDEx survey and existing (DZIF) data sets, including the DZIF-ZBR, MuSPAD, ImmuneBridge and GECCO. It also includes the DZG-wide coordinated elements of the DZG basic data set (https://medical-data-models.org/46184), which has been mandatory for studies funded by the DZG since 2024. This serves the purpose of DZG-wide standardisation and data homogenisation. From the 2026-2030 funding phase onwards, the DZIF clinical core data set must be collected in DZIF-funded (or partially funded) clinical and epidemiological studies. This obligation has been included by DZIF Funding Management in the other ancillary provisions (SNBest) to the transfer agreement. An overview of the data elements of the clinical core data set can be found in the Metadata Repository (DZIF-MDR) and in the Medical Data Models Portal (https://medical-data-models.org/). Parallel to the DZG basic data set, the DZIF Clinical Core Data Set is available for download from the Medical Data Models Portal.
