Microbial OMICs Database

The OMICs Database will allow the storage and transfer of NGS-based data (in the future also proteomics, metabolomics, etc.), metadata, and processed data (e.g. assembled genomes) generated as part of the DZIF to investigate microbes and microbial communities.

To meet the current heterogeneous requirements, both technical and stakeholder-related, while at the same time providing an operational infrastructure, the initial plan is to keep the data available and searchable in our Data Manager application (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.15172511) via a data steward (francesca.barletta-solari@qbic.uni-tuebingen.de). This approach allows quality control prior to data storage and gives control over who can gain access to the data. Moreover, the data steward can assist with the appropriate storage of data and metadata.
