MuSPAD
(Multilocal and Serial Prevalence Study on Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2) is a nationwide population study conducted by the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). It was launched in 2020 and uses blood samples and surveys to investigate the prevalence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in the population. The aim is to gain a better understanding of the actual infection rate, the immunity situation and risk factors for infection. The study is being conducted in several regions of Germany with randomly selected participants and will be continued with follow-up examinations to analyse the development of immunity and the spread of respiratory infections in the long term.
